The Allie Baker Story has yet to be written. But all of the elements of a true and wonderful story were lived out during the past 6 plus years since Wendy Simpson launched The Hemingway Project and adopted the pen name, Allie Baker.

Allie passed away during the evening of Easter in Guanajuato, Mexico.

We – her family, friends, and readers – have learned so much from her about grace, elegance, courage, wonder, hope and love. We miss her so much! We were constantly in awe of the way she was able to express her beautiful spirit through her essays and interviews. We were moved by her daily optimism and the care that she showed us all. We are more in awe of her now, two months after she left us, than before.

“When you part from your loved one, you grieve not.

For that which you loved most in them may be clearer in their absence,

as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain”

– Kalil Gibran

We will be posting Allie’s final interview with Larry Belcher in the next few days.
